Established in 1799 and the oldest house open to the public, Historic Travellers Rest Plantation provides a beautiful and serene venue for Nashville’s weddings, business meetings and special events.

With large trees, a beautiful formal garden and grassy meadows, our venue is absolutely stunning! Outdoor events enjoy the intimate formal garden or the spacious feel of events that spread out across the naturally-beautiful historic grounds. We are only 15 minutes from downtown Nashville!


Travellers Rest Plantation offers three rental options for your special event needs. Please contact us for availability.

Package 1. Barn, Garden and Grounds

This package includes use of the Barn, historic formal Garden and Grounds for up to 11 hours on the day of rental. This option includes chairs and tables for use inside the crib Barn with your choice of round or rectangle tables. We have several ceremony locations throughout the property. The indoor maximum in the Barn is a total of 150 including all staff and guests. Additional guests exceeding the 150 guest limit have to rent a tent to use in our outdoor area for a total maximum of 300 guests.

Rental Rates for Package 1:

Friday: $3,975.00

Saturday: $4,500.00

Sunday: $3,550.00

Week day: $2,550.00

*Winter discount: 10% off Saturdays in January and February. Please contact us regarding pricing if you are planning an event on a holiday weekend.

Package 2. Barn

Located amidst the tranquil setting of the Historic Travellers Rest Plantation, this indoor space is the backdrop for fabulous weddings, receptions and special events. Fashioned after a 1830’scrib barn with 10' ceilings boasting up to 20' in the center clerestory, it is the perfect venue to stage any special event. The barn is climate-controlled and includes a large Tennessee limestonegas fireplace, beautiful wood beams and access to a full-service kitchen and bathroom facilities. This package also includes use of tables and chairs for inside of the barn. Maximum capacity is 150, including all staff, often increased with a tent rental at the entrance doors for a total maximum of 300 guests.

Package 3. Garden and Grounds

Our naturally-beautiful and highly desired Garden and Grounds will be a perfect backdrop for making your own historic event. This package includes use of the grounds for up to 11 hours on the day of rental, set-up and pickup time included. The formal garden that sits alongside the gallery of the home includes a colorful array of Southern plantings. The interior of the garden is perfect for intimate gatherings, small ceremonies or cocktail parties of up to 75, while the grassy areas adjacent to the garden can hold up to 200. The area facing the historic house and the grand entrance of the home are also options for larger ceremonies or receptions. The grassy area facing the large, wrap around porch is also a great place for a ceremony.

Friday: $3,000.00

Saturday: $3,200.00

Sunday: $2,850.00
