Come on out to Travellers Rest for our annual Trades Festival! Step back in time to 200 plus years ago and watch history come alive through the work of over thirty talented artisans and re-enactors.
Converse with a Civil War soldier, or learn the art of hat making…maybe even discover what a flintknapper does! Period demonstrators and re-enactors include basket weaving, spinning, weaving, civil war and frontier life plus much, much more.
A wealth of hands-on activities await such as clothes warshin’, thaumatropes, rolling hoops, quill pen writing, doll making, candle dipping, corn grinding and perhaps a few surprises.
Picnic lunches are welcome…so you can sit for a spell or visit with us all day! Come on out and experience Nashville’s oldest historic house where every day is alive with history!
This event is generously funded by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
